Who We Are
Quota International of Northside Atlanta, founded in 1975, is an affiliate of Quota International, whose 6,000 members worldwide change lives in their local communities through service to children and youth. Founded in 1919, QI is one of the oldest international service clubs and has members in North America, the Caribbean, Europe, Asia, and the South Pacific. For more information, QI’s website is www.quota.org.
What We Do
Northside’s activities revolve around service and fellowship locally. We award the John T. Wheeler Memorial Scholarship annually to a deaf or hard of hearing Georgia high school senior who excels academically and socially. We provide financial and in-kind support for Camp Juliena, a summer camp for deaf and hard of hearing youth and teens serving about 60 kids every year. Other projects include the Mike Glenn Basketball Camp, North Fulton Community Charities, and Deaf Olympics. We support the Atlanta Area School for the Deaf and collaborate with the Georgia Department of Education. We contribute financially to the worldwide efforts of Quota International through the We Share Foundation. We get major financial support for our activities from a private charitable foundation. In addition, we raise money through catalog and gift paper sales, an annual yard sale, club auctions at special events and individual member donations. In everything we do, we work together. We meet twice each month to plan and carry out worthwhile projects that help people in need; we also have fun, entertaining and informative programs. We celebrate with each other and build lifetime friendships that help us grow personally and professionally.
